Someone came up to me and asked how the message went because I never finished this post about.
So this is for you “Culligan Man”. I have since preached again, but first things first.
God was definitely all over that message just like I felt He was. I think numbers wise there were 5 recommitments to Christ and somewhere around 12-15 said they were tired of being “hypocrites” and wanted to stop being that way.
It was a great time and it felt great to be back involved in youth ministry. I also got the opportunity to play guitar and sing a song.
This past Sunday I got to preach again. I finished up the “Edges” series called destinations. Deborah had been preaching about different countries and how slavery still exist today. They learned about a 15 year old boy who is making a huge difference in the world and in slavery. They also talked about Islam and persecution.
The message I did was Destination “YOU”. It was basically about God created you to be you. It’s ok to be you. Be who he created you to be. Also challenged them to make a difference in the world. Either by doing something on a huge global scale or by just locally being someone’s bible. Stand up for what they believe in.
I think the 1st service was a little rough, but the second I did a little better. I heard on Monday from some parents that their kids really enjoyed me being up there. AGAIN… it was great to be involved in youth ministry!
I’m on a mission to get people at Highlands Fellowship to start blogging. So far I have reached Kim Anderson and Greg Coe.
One day my mission will be complete!
Oh yes!
Greg Coe is a very close friend of mine. That’s a way huge understatement. Let me describe him like this…
So it is with great pleasure I introduce you to his blog! Check out his first post! He’s off to a great start. Love this line.
ok pretty deep stuff for the first time out of the box, but life is made up of things such as this…
The reason I am working late:
My daughter had to get a shot today for Chicken Pox for school tomorrow and she wanted me to take her because last time I held her hand and she didn’t cry. I love being a Daddy! ![]()
A friend of mine got a mac recently. He hasn’t used Mac OS in a very long time. He was asking me about applications that I use.
I told him about spirited away, Snapz Pro, Cyberduck, Bloglines Notifier, FCP Rescue, Mac the Ripper, Mediafork/handbrake, Monolingual, mpeg Streamclip, and Text Wrangler.
But I did not tell him about Quicksilver. I use quicksilver more than any application. It’s uses are really unlimited. Check out this link to 43folders for any post related to Quicksilver, this is where I heard about it (and learned how to use it).
So I know have a new home for “A Day in the Life of a Lemon”. I have my own hosting so I can add features I wanted to add but couldn’t before due to hosting through wordpress.com. I haven’t blogged because I have been trying to get this site up and running. I am still having problems importing my old stuff.
But I just got the new Dave Matthews & Tim Reynolds Live @ Radio City CD/DVD/T-shirt Pre-order and I couldn’t wait to blog about it!
I wanted to point out to that it doesn’t come out till tomorrow, but I got it a day early! I love it!
Listening to Bartender right now as I blog. Sounds like he’s changed some of the lyrics.

I have really enjoyed getting into reading and posting blogs. I gotta tell ya that today God spoke to me through a few different blogs that I have read.
First that I’ll mention is one I just read a little while ago from Mark Batterson:
Had to share one thought from the leadership seminar at the Assemblies of God General Council. Dary Northrop shared an amazing story about a stripper that found Christ at their Church–Timberline church. And he talked about how when you’re really reaching the unchurched it is messy! Then he shared a thought from the parable of the prodigal son.
If the younger brother had run into his elder brother first he would have never made it inside the house! Unfortunately, our churches are filled with the elder brother spirit. And sometimes it is the religiousity of elder brothers that can actually keep prodigals from reuniting with their Heavenly Father! That thought was worth the trip to Indy!
Dary also talked about the difference between loving people before they change and after they get cleaned up. That is the challenge and the trick! He said people won’t change until they are fully loved. I think he’s right!
Man… isn’t that so true? I was just in blockbuster the other day and the guy mentioned something about church and dissed it. I spoke up and said, Maybe you just haven’t found the right church. He said I just couldn’t put up with all the politicing that goes on there and how the people with all the money has the power. When I went to Puerto Rico, almost everyone I talked to had been to church and had stopped going because of the people in the church. When are we going to start loving one another first and start representin’ Christ’s love?
I also think that this post from Perry is awesome and I can think of quite a few people I know that need to hear it. So check it out! Now! Seriously, I’ll wait…
Ok, done? I know some people could get mad at this statement, but GOD IS LOVE! I know he has wrath, righteousness, justice and all that other stuff, but everything He does, comes from His perfect love for us.
There were a couple more that spoke to me… but I’ll save them for another time. Plus I gotta get more organized with my clippings from bloglines. Check out this post if you have no idea what i’m talking about. I use bloglines and I can keep up with my 34 blogs I’m reading and it only takes minutes a day.
Well. In case I got you curious. We went to Wytheville, Va. It’s only about an hour away from home. The purpose of this trip was just to get away before summer ended and let the kids have fun at the pool at the hotel.
We came up yesterday. It’s my family (wife & 3 kids), my Mom, Grandma, Uncle, and his two kids (Autumn & Eli). Everyone came up early yesterday except my Uncle and I. We came up after I got off work. When I got here, we ate at the best Chinese place ever. I say this because I have never eaten at PF Chang’s, so in my world, Peking is best!
Then we went swimming for a long time. Mia made two friends (as usual) and Luke made two friends. Luke’s friends were probably 12 yrs old each. Luke is 3.
Then we came up to the room and played some wii until it was time for bed. Still loving the wii!
This morning we woke up late (9-10). Uncle, Mia, Autumn, Eli, and myself all went to Galewinds Amusement Park. We played putt-putt golf, drove go-karts, and spent money in the arcade.
Then we ate at Troy’s Original Philly Cheesesteak. I of course got a cheesesteak. It was awesome! Highly recommended. Everyone else got a pizza.
Eli and I played more wii while everyone else went swimming. Now Tyra is asleep and the girls are gone shopping. Thought I’d take the quite peaceful moments to blog.
I’ll post more tomorrow hopefully! The plan is to go to some wildlife reservation and let the kids see all the animals. Then we will come home!
Don’t have much time to blog. Been really busy living life lately. That’s a lot cooler than working all the time.
What I’ve been up too:
