Closing Time

Well it’s almost 4:00 and I just finished my last task for Highlands Fellowship.

In case you haven’t figured it out by my twitters, I have accepted a position at the Met in Houston, Texas.  I will be the Worship Leader for the youth ministry.

Only thing I keep saying to describe this is this word… CRAZY.

One month ago I had no plans of leaving Highlands, ever!  I thought I was set for life and reached that goal/want/purpose God wanted me to reach.  how stupid of me that’s not how God works

However since I have not been able to do youth ministry here full time and I know youth ministry is my calling, God has given me an amazing opportunity.

This job just fell right in my lap.  My friend Everett called me up one day and said he had a job position at his church that he thought I would be perfect for and asked if I was interested. I said I didn’t know but I would check it out.  I did a phone interview and it went great.  They flew me out and it went greater.  They flew me and Alisha out and went the GREATEST (i know poor grammar just being stupid – just so my literature friends won’t correct me – you know who you are… matt :) )

Seriously – I am stoked. I can’t believe how God can take something I was so passionate about, Highlands, and change it to something else.  It has been awesome to see my passion for music restored.  Since I have been on Highlands I have ignored my musical background.  God has totally renewed it.

I am excited to see how God is going to grow me through this position as well.  Some of you might be thinking, “Tim? a worship leader?”  I know it sounds crazy – but that is why I am so excited because I know I will have to depend on God for everything.

Gonna cut it short for now – but this blog will definitely be more active soon! I will be driving to Houston on the 30th.

Come to our going away party if you can make it!  Details here.
