Also a side thought, in the opening title the grandma is reading Rolling Stones and U2 is on the cover. How cool is it they are still doin it and doin it well?
Ok. I always watch MTV Movie and Music Awards. It’s a great place to see awesome technology and to stay up to date with what is going on in culture that I may have missed. I just forced myself to finish the last half of 2008 Movie Awards and I wish I could have that time back. Seriously. I want it back.
Basically all they did was take anyone who is coming out with a movie soon and pair them together to present awards. Boring. Mike Meyers opening video was right. It was all about shameless plugs. No awesome videos, no awesome live skits. Even the bands sucked, except for Coldplay doing Viva La Vida.
Curious as to everyone else’s thoughts. Any other die hard MTV Movie and Music Award fans out there bored with this years program?
We watched this on hulu one night from the hotel and it has been our theme for the trip. Peyton has gone around to random people asking, “Excuse me, have you seen my googly eyes?” It has been fun
Ok, you seriously have to go check this out if you aren’t already using it. It is now open to the public. I have been using it since it first came out on beta. I love it and now they have added way more shows and movies all for free! Can’t beat that!
Tonight 16 people went to eat @ Del Pueblo all juniors and seniors and student ministry adult leaders. We were very loud and boisterous and had fun. When it came to leave the waiter said someone paid our bill for us. Turns out and older couple (who I think were drunk, but that’s iffy) was so impressed by us praying and pouring into each other, he wanted to buy our meal. They said they wished they had something like that when they were younger. I think it really impacted the students, they could see they touched that couples life just being themselves.
I went over to the Pollocks house tonight to watch Lost. I gotta tell you I was really impressed by their dedication and knowledge of the show. They were pulling quotes/names/theories out that I hadn’t thought about or had forgotten about. I love that I’m surrounded by Lost freaks here. Just goes to show you that God really does bless you with more when he takes something away.
Had lunch at Subway a while back with Jordan and Erika. Joe you would be proud to know that I am spreading your earth friendly idea of compacting all Subway trash into one chip bag. We had the subway sandwich artist take a picture of us holding up the bag of chips, when I get it from Jordan I’ll post it. (this might be one of those you had to be there moments) Also we had a funny moment where Erika saw neon signs at a furniture store that said Dining, Open, Sofa, and Pedro. Erika was like why Pedro - turns out it was Bedroom.
Erika was telling of a teacher’s name achey pronounced aki and a student one day said you should have a child named Terry (teriyaki).
We went to IHOP after Truth on Wednesday and Brandon and I played thumps. It’s the first time I haven’t won. We called a truce after a long duel.
A group of use went to Pei Wei Tuesday and Michael hit Andy on the back of the neck with a chopstick. Andy waited a few moments and the retaliated by picking up a noodle with his chopsticks and slinging it at Michael. Well it was hilarious because not only did it slap him pretty good (imagine towel flick effect) but it was also called “blazing noodles” and it just happened to hit Michael in the eye. So for the next 20 minutes Michael’s eye was on fire. It wasn’t until we were almost done that the phrase came out, “I’m sorry I hit you with a blazing noodle!” Priceless quote!
Some guy has a Lost theory about the time travel and the stuff he writes is amazing! It is long and confusing at times but you have to read it if you are a true fan. Yeah that’s right, I threw down the gauntlet.
I just got done watching Lost episode 5 of Season 4 - “The Constant”. Holy Cow! Lost is so creative and imaginitive and insane - it’s just crazy. I am so proud to be a Lost fan! What would your constant be?
I watched Vantage Point tonight with Everett. It was a REALLY GOOD (not great) movie. It is definitely worth watching. I actually caught myself biting my knuckles at one point (not just because I had to go to the bathroom badly). I had really high expectations of this movie because it looked so awesome from the preview. But if I went into that movie with a “tabula rosa” (clean slate) mind and had never seen the previews, I would walk away happy.
Private Kicking - So I watched the Truth building today - meaning from 3-6 we have kids there hanging out and I’m responsible. Well at closing time I walk outside and see a kid laying on the ground and another kid sees me and starts walking away (at a hurried pace). I go to the kid and I can see a tear in his eye and I ask him if he is ok. He doesn’t move. So I’m like, “uh-oh.” Long story short he finally started talking. Turns out he and his friend were trying to kick each other where it hurts and apparently the other kid won. Oh the stupid games we boys play. There’s more to this story but I don’t want to say it on here because I don’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings.
I went to my first student ministry related funeral today. Nick’s (drummer in band) grandfather passed away this week and the service was today. I feel so privileged that God has called me to minister to students. I hope I am way over communicating to them that I care and that they can come to me about anything.
It’s time for bed. Tomorrow I am going to search desperately for a place to rent for my family and I. The church is going to help my family and I out so they don’t have to wait until the house sells to move here. So the ball is in my court. I have to find us a place to live temporarily and then I can go get my family. Kinda reminds me of “I have gone to prepare a place for you and now I am going to go get my bride.” It has officially been a month now since I have seen my wife and kids. I miss them terribly.
Ok. I was getting ready to twitter this but decided not to because I know Ken hasn’t seen it yet. So Ken stop reading this until you have seen the episode.
Holy Crap! Lost is so freakin amazing! The last two words of the show impacted that whole episode! I love that about Lost. That whole episode cam into full view just by two words at the end. I’m kind of disappointed I didn’t guess it. Did I mention two words, just two words impacted the whole episode! For those of you @ C3. It took it to a Hole Nother’ Level (H-N-L)!
Just in case you missed the premier of Knight Rider. You can watch it here and also read what I thought about it here. Thanks to your old pal Tim and hulu.com
Well, Knight Rider was entertaining. Mostly for nostalgic value. Bad acting and a heavy side order of the cheese factor made it a little less enjoyable. But I’ll tivo it and see what happens.
Ok for all of you have though to yourself, “people are talking about this lost show a lot maybe I should check it out” then you do only to find yourself completely… LOST.
Well now you can watch all 3 seasons on abc.com.
Check it out. I promise, it is the best show ever and you will not regret making the choice to watch it.
Don’t watch this if you have not watched lost and you think you want to. It will spoil a bunch of stuff.
My recommendation is to start from season 1 and go all the way through season 3. I promise you won’t regret that you did. It is the best show ever!
If you know what all is going on with lost watch the video and laugh, because it tries to cover everything in 8 minutes and 15 seconds and they do not cover everything and it’s funny the stuff they do cover. I did hear some things I didn’t notice before.
