Hey… all 3 of you! j/k

Just reading through some blogs on bloglines.  I am up to 1142 blog posts that I haven’t read.  Sheesh! I am behind.

Anyways just wanted to let you know don’t give up on me!  Some major stuff has been happening lately and I’ve been busy.

I will get back on schedule of blogging soon probably two weeks from now.

Until then, enjoy the twitters and if you have unlimited txt messages go join twitter.  It’s addictive and fun!

Anyways: some of you know what the major thing is and if you do, thx for the prayers. If not just pray for me!  More to come later…

Sick

December 4, 2007 — Leave a comment

I don’t get sick very often. When I do… it’s bad. I felt bad last week but kept trying to convince myself I was not getting sick. It didn’t work this time.

Sunday night I started feeling rough. When I woke up Monday, I knew I was sick so I sent an email saying I wouldn’t be in to work and went back to sleep for 7 more hours.

I went to the Doctor last night. I have strep throat. He said I needed to stay home today as well. Normally I wouldn’t care staying home, but I don’t have internet right now. Right now I am mooching off a neighbor. There connection goes in and out so it is pretty much useless.

I have mostly slept since Sunday night. I think I slept for 17 hours Sunday night and 15 hours last night.

My hope is that I will get a lot of rest tonight and wake up feeling great in the morning. I gotta get back to work!

Pros of being sick:

  • Take a break from work
  • Lot’s of sleep
  • Time with the family
  • Just hang out with nothing to do

Cons of being sick:

  • Take a break from work (this is a con because I like what I do and I will have to work extra hard the rest of the week)
  • Lot’s of sleep (while most people like sleep, I do not – I would rather be doing something… anything!)
  • I don’t have the internet – that has been a bummer!
  • Cost – we are broke and i had to pay my copay for visit and medicine. (i’m blessed to have great insurance though)

My mom sent me an email with this and I thought it was cool.

It said that 99.9% of people with the name Tim were male. I’m guessing the other 1% had a sex change?

I was recently thinking about some of the best highlights of my life. Here they are in random order.

  1. The days each of my 3 kids were born – Mia 12-6-00, Luke 10-1-03, & Tyra 11-13-05
  2. Marrying my wife Alisha Wright 6-12-99
  3. Baptizing my daughter 10-7-07
  4. My band opening for Audio Adrenaline and spending the day with them
  5. The day I received the call into ministry – I’ll have to find that day in my notes
  6. I’m guessing the day I got saved – even though I vaguely remember it.  I was 7
  7. Finally getting to see Dave Matthews live 9-6-07
  8. First time I preached 3 people accepted Christ (it was to our high school ministry)
  9. The day I found out I got hired @ Highlands
  10. My Graduation Ceremony (even though I have still got work to do before I get the diploma)

It's Been Awhile

Wow, I haven’t blogged in a while.  It’s kind of a shame because I have had a lot of blog-worthy events going on.

  • Top of the list – I got to baptize my daughter.  That definitely ranks up there with one of the best days of my life.  It was an unforgettable experience.  It’s pretty awesome to baptize anyone and I’ve had that opportunity a few times, but this was the best.  I also baptized my two cousins Autumn & Eli on the same day.
  • My grandmother had a very bad accident.  I am still praising God because she walked away without a scratch.  She called me while in the car after the accident telling me she had a wreck.  I didn’t think it was that bad, but when I pulled up to the scene there were 3 Counties and 2 ambulances.  That kind of freaked me out.  I walked down into the ditch and first thing she did was hand me the check she was delivering to me.  She was on her way to see me @ the church office.  I knew then she was ok. :)   They put her on a stretcher and took her to the hospital for x-rays.  Everything came back ok and they sent her home.  She is still sore today, but doing great!
  • Today is my last day before I take a week of vacation!  WHOOO-HOOOO!
  • Had Lost night last night, never noticed before – but in the episode “Adrift” of season 2 the shark in the water has a Dharma logo near it’s tail.
  • Halo 3 is AWESOME!
  • Bought Madden 08 with my birthday money from my Grandparents in Florida.  It is awesome.  Currently I’m doing the superstar mode because I don’t have much time to play and that way I get to play only when my player is on the field.

I know I’m missing something I wanted to blog about, but oh well. That’s what happens when you don’t do it everyday.

This was a couple of weeks ago. I just haven’t had a chance to put this up yet.

Today's thoughts

  • I’m off today – not a reason to celebrate. My day will be spent helping alisha get ready for our yard sale tomorrow and cleaning the house. Oh happy days! :)
  • I’m preparing for my fantasy football live draft tonight. I hope I actually pay attention this season and do it. Last season I never logged in once after selecting my players. you can follow the status here
  • Last night’s rehearsal was great. It felt awesome to be back in a band and play. My pinky and ring finger are pretty sore though. I haven’t played electric in a while.
  • Last night was Lost night. Apologies to everyone who was here because while trying to get Luke to sleep I myself fell asleep. Hope it was fun peeps!

Excited!

For those of you that don’t know, I am back involved in youth ministry on Sundays.  Whooo Hoooo!

I am pumped up.  I will be playing in the band and helping out with games, as well as giving the message when Brent and Deborah go out of town.  Tonight is my first rehearsal.  I can’t wait.

I also get to preach on September the 16th and the 23rd!
