Unleash 2010

I’m going. How about you?

Ok. It’s no secret that I have the coolest kids in the world. If you know them you can’t argue with me. So here is Tyra telling me a story. Complete with large hand movements, huge eyes, high pitched voices, and just her all around cuteness! Enjoy!

I love the idea that the peeps over at Fuse* came up with for their message. Brad sets it up like this on the student blog:

I need to give you a little context before you watch this video…

the majority of this sermon was preached via complete silence—

If you watch the piece you’ll be seeing exactly what students were experiencing–

Here’s how we did it…. I typed up a sermon that Ben placed into multiple motion pieces… I literally ran the CG from a laptop on stage-

This gave me the ability to discern the heaviness and awkwardness present in the room… and allow the Holy Spirit to prompt responses in the souls of everyone in attendance…

I’d encourage you to have a journal handy if you are going to watch the service— I believe God may have something specific for you as you participate-

If you want to be a real man then watch this and actually do it.  This is one of the best messages I’ve ever heard about being a man, whether married or single please watch this and apply it to your life!

1986computersintheoffice

Ever since I was 8 or so I can remember having a computer in the house.  Now for today’s culture, that’s no big deal at all, nothing special.  However, in 1986 or so that was rare.  I’m thankful my grandfather wanted me to have one so that I could get started on one at an early age. I have always been obsessed with technology and computers.

That is one of the reasons I love twitter.  I remember being a kid and going on a trip and meeting people and being sad because we would never hear from each other again.  That doesn’t happen now. Now you share IM screennames, twitter each other, read blog posts, follow on facebook/myspace.  The world is a much smaller place now.

Watch this video about Ashton Kutcher, twitter, and Malaria.  There is a line that he says that I loosely quote, “now we are in a time where a single person can have as large of a voice as huge news network.”  I am thankful that we have this technology.  I know a lot of traditional churches fight technology, but those same churches are usually the ones that circle up and show their butts to the world. How is it wrong when people are genuinely coming to Christ through technology.  Just look here, here, and/or here.  Amazing stories of Christ at work through technology.  Especially this video. God’s hands and feet are being shown to the World through twitter.

So watch this video then ask yourself, “What message does God want me to share with the World?” (literally… the world)

My friend JR showed me this last night and I thought it was awesome.  All these people from all over the world playing together the same song.  Different races, languages, cultures coming together. That is one of the reasons I love music!  It’s so powerful. This is called Playing for Change.

The first time I heard this song I twittered I couldn’t wait to hear churches doing this song!  NewSpring is the first that I’ve heard do it.  How about you? Any other churches out there you know of done it yet?

Saw this on Vimeo the other day and liked it. Thought I would share it.

Clap Hands from Granger Community on Vimeo.

If for some reason you have never heard of Newspring or Unleash and you haven’t seen/heard Perry Noble preach, then I wanted to open your eyes to some awesomeness. Below you’ll find the two main sessions from Unleash. Also go to the website for downloadable (and FREE) pdf’s from the breakout sessions! ENJOY! Leave me a comment and let me know what you think.

I randomly ran across this the other day. I like the idea of it. Just wondering if anyone is reading this or knows anything about it?
