Holy Cow! Have you ever heard a church cheer when the pastor says it’s time to take up the offering?
Me neither.
Until tonight!
Check this out and listen closely around 1:35!

I’m totally excited because I get to preach tomorrow for the 122, which is the High School service. There are two services so I will be preaching twice.
I am excited about how God has created this message.
Brent who normally preaches was in california for the PDYM Student Leadership Conference He asked me about a month ago if I would preach for him! I was excited because I haven’t had the opportunity to preach in almost two years.
Instantly I felt like I should share an analogy I learned while at school about a rock. (more to come later about that) Anyways, when it came time for the outline to be due I still hadn’t finalized what I was going to say. I spent about 3 or 4 hours searching through scripture and coming up with 3 points and verses. I had thought I would do it one way.
Well, Thursday my wife and son got sick and I had to stay home from work and then Friday I was sick and today I have been still recovering. So here it is late in the game and I am doing this message.
I started out and sat down in front of the computer and started typing away. I didn’t feel good about it though. I realized I didn’t even pray before I started. So I stopped.
I prayed (out loud, very cool and I am learning that I need to do more of this) and quoted some scripture to God about that I am calling out for help and that he will answer me. I knew he had a message for these students and I didn’t want to stand in the way of that
As soon as I was done praying I started typing and the message went in a whole other direction that perfectly fit the three points and verses that I had picked out previously in the week. Way better than what I had the first time around!
So I had to pause to write this out because I am so excited. Back to it now!
BTW, part two will be some of my message and results from the day!
Maybe I’ll do the classic Perry Noble Sunday reflections.
Glad i’m not the only one 😉
