Blogging

Hey… all 3 of you! j/k

Just reading through some blogs on bloglines.  I am up to 1142 blog posts that I haven’t read.  Sheesh! I am behind.

Anyways just wanted to let you know don’t give up on me!  Some major stuff has been happening lately and I’ve been busy.

I will get back on schedule of blogging soon probably two weeks from now.

Until then, enjoy the twitters and if you have unlimited txt messages go join twitter.  It’s addictive and fun!

Anyways: some of you know what the major thing is and if you do, thx for the prayers. If not just pray for me!  More to come later…

Sick

I don’t get sick very often. When I do… it’s bad. I felt bad last week but kept trying to convince myself I was not getting sick. It didn’t work this time.

Sunday night I started feeling rough. When I woke up Monday, I knew I was sick so I sent an email saying I wouldn’t be in to work and went back to sleep for 7 more hours.

I went to the Doctor last night. I have strep throat. He said I needed to stay home today as well. Normally I wouldn’t care staying home, but I don’t have internet right now. Right now I am mooching off a neighbor. There connection goes in and out so it is pretty much useless.

I have mostly slept since Sunday night. I think I slept for 17 hours Sunday night and 15 hours last night.

My hope is that I will get a lot of rest tonight and wake up feeling great in the morning. I gotta get back to work!

Pros of being sick:

  • Take a break from work
  • Lot’s of sleep
  • Time with the family
  • Just hang out with nothing to do

Cons of being sick:

  • Take a break from work (this is a con because I like what I do and I will have to work extra hard the rest of the week)
  • Lot’s of sleep (while most people like sleep, I do not – I would rather be doing something… anything!)
  • I don’t have the internet – that has been a bummer!
  • Cost – we are broke and i had to pay my copay for visit and medicine. (i’m blessed to have great insurance though)

NYWC in Atlanta

I wish i had time to blog about my trip. But I only have today and tomorrow to work this week, so I got way too much to do.  Maybe over Thanksgiving holiday i’ll get a chance.

Brief notes:

  • Read my twitter updates to see what we did/where we ate/who we saw
  •  Crowder was amazing… duh
  • I am now a huge fan of Steve Fee
  • Tomlin was amazing
  • Louie spoke some truth to me
  • Marquis Laughlin made the Bible alive
  • I heard the best sermon ever… Shane Claiborne… more to come

Take for Granted

Yesterday’s Staff meeting made me think about something.

What do I take for granted. I realized in staff that I sometimes take prayer for granted. I ask things and forget to think about them and sometimes I ask with doubt that it will happen without believing God will do it. So I started thinking about what else I take for granted.

  • Prayer – I pray a lot, but need to change my focus more often
  • Holy Spirit – If I was aware of him every second of my life, what more could I accomplish?
  • Wife (who is amazing)
  • Kids (I know everyone says this, but I really do have the coolest kids in the world)
  • Mom and Grandparents – they have always been there for me and my family
  • My job – I have the greatest job in the world
  • Wealth – this one’s kind of funny, because we are no where near rich according to most standards. But I don’t know many people my age with a house and all our stuff. Plus not to mention wealth of the other type (family, love, grace, etc)
