PDYM Community has a new blog format for the site. This blog has been up for about a month now. I’m really excited about it and I subscribe to it through bloglines.

I want students to see husbands, wives, families not only in the same space but actually liking one another. I want to build a ministry where it’s actually ok to like your mom or your dad. I know that’s not how most students think and I realize it will take time, but we have to start somewhere. Why not with them? I asked 8 sets of parents and all 8 said yes! Sometimes you just have to ask…

New Hire at Highlands

The announcement was just made that we have a new Tech Director @ Highlands.  Billy Frye! HECK YES!  I am pumped about this.  He will bring a lot to that position and I am also pumped to be working alongside him!  If you know Billy please congratulate him!

It's Been Awhile

Cool God Stuff Family Thoughts

Wow, I haven’t blogged in a while.  It’s kind of a shame because I have had a lot of blog-worthy events going on.

  • Top of the list – I got to baptize my daughter.  That definitely ranks up there with one of the best days of my life.  It was an unforgettable experience.  It’s pretty awesome to baptize anyone and I’ve had that opportunity a few times, but this was the best.  I also baptized my two cousins Autumn & Eli on the same day.
  • My grandmother had a very bad accident.  I am still praising God because she walked away without a scratch.  She called me while in the car after the accident telling me she had a wreck.  I didn’t think it was that bad, but when I pulled up to the scene there were 3 Counties and 2 ambulances.  That kind of freaked me out.  I walked down into the ditch and first thing she did was hand me the check she was delivering to me.  She was on her way to see me @ the church office.  I knew then she was ok. 🙂  They put her on a stretcher and took her to the hospital for x-rays.  Everything came back ok and they sent her home.  She is still sore today, but doing great!
  • Today is my last day before I take a week of vacation!  WHOOO-HOOOO!
  • Had Lost night last night, never noticed before – but in the episode “Adrift” of season 2 the shark in the water has a Dharma logo near it’s tail.
  • Halo 3 is AWESOME!
  • Bought Madden 08 with my birthday money from my Grandparents in Florida.  It is awesome.  Currently I’m doing the superstar mode because I don’t have much time to play and that way I get to play only when my player is on the field.

I know I’m missing something I wanted to blog about, but oh well. That’s what happens when you don’t do it everyday.

LifeGroup

Funny Video

We joined a new LifeGroup last night because our other one disbanded.

I had a great time and am really pumped about the relationships that are going to be strengthened through this. Everyone in the group we were already friends with, but it has been hard to find time to hang out with these people. It was a great night.

If you are not in a LifeGroup I encourage you to join one. I heard of someone who has been going to Highlands for 5 years and said the first four years were awesome. The past year has not been so awesome. First thing they asked this person was, are you in a LifeGroup? They said the first four years they were, but the past year they have not been. GO FIGURE! LifeGroups are key!

Plus you might miss out on fun stuff like this.

Update on David Morrison

Prayer Request

*David has been moved to Progressive Care ICU
*He is following some commands but not all the time( they are waiting for all the time):
Lifts his fingers when asked to, wiggling his toes, squeezes and releases their hand.  He will open his eyes.
* Please continue to keep Lesa and the family in prayer.  She is expecting family to come again this weekend.

I think it is awesome that David Crowder band is number 5 on iTunes.  He mentioned on their myspace that they are going after Kanye West.  Last time when Collision came out they beat Kanye.  I hope they do it again!  Maybe Kanye and 50 Cent should retire then! 🙂
