  • I just got an apple tv.
  • New Lost episode tomorrow night! YES! Finally!
  • New Weezer album sounds promising.
  • Sex and Sports Lock-in Friday night!
  • Flight of the Conchords CD
  • I can watch youtube videos on my HDTV.  Just watched Lee McDee’s “Be Your Own Man“
  • I think my internet is finally working right (after dealing with stupid comcast) I might actually be able to play Xbox live now.
  • The MET‘s rebranding including a really awesome new website that I can’t show you yet
  • Taking a day off next week to compensate for working late Tuesday night and this Friday night… spend time with the family!
  • I can watch Foo Fighter’s Pretender video anytime I want on my Apple TV.
  • Joe is transferring Cloverfield to me right now as I type this!
  • Getting ready to order my first moleskin and give it a try.  Also gonna get me a hipster PDA (can’t beat that price for a PDA).
  • Excited to see if I can really implement some of the GTD stuff I’ve been learning and finding balance in my time management.
  • Waiting anxiously to see if this guy will reply to me about he has went from 450 wpm to 1500 wpm reading. I suck at reading, but would love to rock at it!

I'm in Chicago

Events

Well I am in Chicago with Andy, Peyton, Frank and Megan.  It is the first time being in Chicago for all of us.  It’s cool because we are all excited.  Tonight we landed around 5:30 and drove to downtown Chicago.  We drove around for a while taking pictures and admiring the city scape. Check out my flickr page for more pics.  Then we went to eat @ Ditka’s. It was schweet! I had the “Fridge” burger. It was huge and great!  Then we went to Borders and bought some moleskins and some coffee.

Driving from downtown we jammed out to some 80’s music – Mr Roboto,  867-5309, We Built This City, Don’t Stop Believing and Whip It.  Then we had some confusion about our hotel, we thought we were staying at amerisuites but it was comfort suites. Now we are in the hotel all chillin in the same room before we go to bed.  We are going to shoot a video for our facebook page and then call it a night.  We have to be at Willow Creek at 8:30.  We are meeting JJ and David from Cypress Bible Church tomorrow morning.

Cool God Stuff Family Truth Student Ministry 2 Comments

Here is some random stuff running through my head:

  • Luke has been playing star wars legos on his Nintendo DS.  He is really good at it.  I love it! He calls Darth Vader – Dark Lazer! 🙂
  • I really enjoyed Ken’s Yes from his yes and no feature he does on his blog.
  • I am leaving today for Chicago! Pretty crazy. I have never been there before and I am looking forward to seeing Willow Creek for the first time. Truth Staff is going to the Shift Conference.
  • Are next series in Truth is called, “Talking Donkeys“.  It’s about hard to believe stories in the Bible, the talking donkey, floating axe head, etc.
  • I have been playing Rockband with the kids a lot lately.  They really love it and I enjoy watching them ROCK! Luke will make all sorts of cool faces and moves while drumming.  His list of moves includes, but is not limited to, playing from behind the drum set, jumping high in the air and coming down with a stomp (sure our neighbors underneath us love that one), spinning around in between hitting the drums, etc.  Mia just loves singing and I find it amusing everytime she sings, “Creep”.  There’s just something about hearing a 7 yr old saying, “I’m a creep, I’m a weirdo”
  • We officially closed on our house yesterday! Praise God for selling our house so quickly! In a place that normally takes 6 months for a house to sell, ours only took 6 weeks.
  • I want to change my blog.  It’s been like this for a while.  I wish I had time to learn CSS and create my own style.  Anyone out there feel like creating me a wordpress custom theme feel free.  Although I doubt I’ll get as many responses as Tony.

Well I have prepared and prepared and prepared and now it is up to God to speak through me.  

I feel really good about this message and I can’t wait to see what God is going to do tonight! This is the first time in years I have preached from my own message and not one that was written out for me!

The message is called Everybody Hurts and it is dealing with the fear of fruit salad and how it relates to homogenized milk. Just kidding it deals with hurt!
